When I was 19, I gave my daughter up for adoption. Unlike many parents who spend years wondering about the children they lost, I never searched for her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the time, I chose my freedom over responsibility and convinced myself it was the right decision. Fourteen years passed, and I built a life without ever expecting to see her again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then one day, a young woman appeared at my front door holding a baby girl. Before I could say anything, she stopped me. \u201cSave it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m not here for an apology.\u201d She handed me the baby along with a folded note. My hands trembled as I opened it and read the words inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The note explained that the little girl suffered from a serious heart condition and urgently needed medical treatment. My daughter didn\u2019t have health insurance or enough money<\/p>\n\n\n\n
